Plate compactors with very low Hand-Arm Vibrations

Without compromising performance or productivity these plate compactors give long safe usage times so they can help to reduce the overall risk of “Vibration White Finger”. Operator exposure to harmful vibrations has to be limited and should be reduced to a minimum wherever possible. Fairport FPC Plate compactors help employers meet their responsibilities to their workforce with no loss of productivity. By only allowing operators to use Low HAV plate compactors, other equipment such as breakers can be used for a little longer without risking over exposure.

For compaction of soil, sub-bases and asphalt, these plates maintain productivity without exposing operators to excessive harmful vibrations

Reducing the Hand Arm Vibrations HAVs of a plate compactor without affecting productivity is a challenge only a few manufacturers have mastered. (Doing this at a cost effective price has proved even harder). The engineers and designers who developed the first Low HAVs plate compactors to be widely accepted by Contractors, Utility Companies and Local Authorities have applied additional advances to the Fairport FPC range. Rigorous real life testing and tuning of plate compactor design combining mass dampening and vibration isolation is built in to an all-round winning design.

Interesting Note: Not all Wackers are Wacker Plate Compactors

Wacker turned out to be a fortunate name for a German company (now Headquartered in the U.S.) selling plate compactors the UK. The name “wacker plate” became more of a descriptive noun rather than referring to the name of the manufacturer. OK, in english it should be “whacker plate” and it often is, coming from Sheffield we’ll not mind a few dropped H’s. If we translated the German “wacker” in to english we would a “brave plate”, certainly doesn’t have the same ring to it! So if you’re after a wacker plate compactor and you need one that is actually has the trade name Wacker then, try searching for “Wacker Neuson”, they joined forces back in 2007 and still offer a wide range of compaction equipment.
